In a bid to ensure 100% Aadhaar coverage, the district administration of Karbi Anglong, in collaboration with the education department, has launched a special Aadhaar enrollment drive. The initiative, rolled out on Friday, aims to facilitate seamless registration, particularly for schoolchildren, enabling them to access government benefits and services.
Enrollment Camps Set Up for Maximum Outreach
As part of this mission-mode effort, special enrollment camps were organized at Dengaon LP English School under the Samelangso Educational Block and Hir Hiri Govt LP School under the Nilip Educational Block. These camps were strategically established to streamline the registration process for students and other eligible residents.
The administration has urged parents and guardians to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll their children in Aadhaar. This move is expected to help beneficiaries efficiently access various government welfare schemes. For further assistance, residents have been advised to contact the district administration or their respective educational block offices.
Efforts Extend Beyond Karbi Anglong
The Aadhaar enrollment drive is also gaining momentum in Assam’s Barpeta district, where District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, IAS, has intensified efforts to ensure all eligible students receive their unique identification numbers. Schools across the district have become key enrollment centers, providing easy access for students and their families.
Addressing Aadhaar-Linked Challenges
Given the mandatory Aadhaar biometric updates at critical age groups (5–7 years and 15–17 years), this initiative addresses common issues faced by students. Outdated records have previously caused authentication problems for aspirants of national-level exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET.
