  • The email was allegedly sent by Rajput Sindar, who also demanded ₹1 crore ransom from Shami.
  • The FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code (BNS) 2023 Section 308 (4) and Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008 Sections 66D and 66E.
  • The police have launched an investigation into the sender’s identity and are using digital forensic techniques to track the source.

  • Last month, Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir also received a death threat via email, leading to an FIR with Delhi Police.
  • Gambhir is already under Delhi Police protection, and authorities are investigating the matter.
